October 28 – Grade 1 presented their first STEM projects made out of candy. STEM utilizes higher level thinking skills although nibbling on the sweets was easy!
October 26 – Today is the 50th day of school. Students enjoyed activities from the 1950’s and refreshing root beer floats. Each of our students is 50 days smarter!
October 20 – Grade 1 and Jr. Kindergarten learned about pumpkins and what’s on the inside. Puree mixed with other ingredients made for some yummy muffins.
October 19 – The YHIS students of Grade 3, 4, 5 made bookmarks to exchange with students from Portugal. Mrs. Gama, a special guest from Portugal, visited during library time.
October 19 – To highlight International School Library Month, YHIS students and staff dressed as book characters: Harry Potter, Thing 1 & Thing 2, Miss Frizzle, Sherlock Holmes, etc.
October 15 – YHIS hosted their first soccer tournament. Four schools competed in a day of rounds. The YHIS Boys played well; while the YHIS Girls took home the winning trophy!
