March 16 – Bright Start students had the opportunity to make strawberry jam with their parents. Hand-made strawberry jam with a piece of bread, how does that sound?
March 9 – Successful YHIS Science Fair! All the students worked hard like a real scientist. What is a scientific investigation of your interest?
February 7 – After reading one of the most famous American novels, To Kill A Mockingbird, the tenth-grade students participated in a mock jury deliberation to consider the guilt or innocence of Tom Robinson.
February 7 – Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math day(STEM)! It was full of hands-on activities for students to have a deeper understanding of those areas.
February 6 – Chunjie is right around the corner! YHIS students had an opportunity to experience Chinese culture and traditions in Chinese class.
January 31 – The First graders celebrated this special day by dressing as if they were 100 years old!
January 26 – Many students and staff dressed up as if characters jumped out of TV/books. What is your favorite movie/book character?
January 24 – JK reading buddies, 4th graders, taught JK students how to scan QR codes with iPads to watch videos and learn about animals!
December 20 – 2nd grade had a “Got Talent Show” where students showed off their talents in music, dancing, comedy, science, and magic tricks. It was an enjoyable show!
December 19 – Third grade students wrote and illustrated personal narrative stories and read them to Kindergartners!
