School Water Purification System
To ensure a safe and healthy learning environment, YHIS operates a water purification system that provides clean drinking water for students and staff. The system filters water through four different filters and stores up to 1.5 tons of purified water in a dedicated tank. For a detailed overview of how the system works, please refer to the picture.

The purified water is then distributed to dispensers on each floor, where it is further sterilized by boiling. These dispensers offer water at three temperatures: hot, lukewarm, and cold temperature.

The school conducted a professional water quality test at the beginning of the school year, which confirmed that the water was clean and safe. A new test was conducted yesterday, and we will share the results as soon as they become available. Our Operations Team continues to ensure the system is fully operational at all times.

LifePlus Student Surveys
Our students in grades 3-12 recently participated in the LifePlus student surveys, focusing on learning experiences and school environment. While all responses were collected anonymously and kept confidential, our leadership team has carefully analyzed the data to enhance student support. As part of our commitment to student wellness, we have a special Secondary Team dedicated to engaging initiatives including special picnic lunch days, surprise ice cream socials, and mini field day event. During exam periods, students receive encouraging notes from teachers alongside healthy snacks to boost morale. These thoughtful touches, combined with our comprehensive approach to student wellbeing, demonstrate our ongoing dedication to creating a positive, nurturing environment where every student can thrive. We value your partnership in supporting our school community and welcome your feedback as we continue to prioritize the mental and emotional wellness of our students.

Lunch Menu Updates
As part of our ongoing commitment to improvement, we will be making regular updates to our lunch menus. These gradual changes will continue as we work to enhance our menus. You can find current lunch menus.

OBIDO Reading Club
The Obido Reading Club is a program designed to provide families in China with easier access to a wide selection of English, Chinese, and bilingual books. More than 3,000 books for readers of all ages are available for sale. Flyers were sent home yesterday for you to view.

To place an order, scan the QR code in the poster. You can switch between Chinese or English language options in the top right corner of the screen. Payment can be made by WeChat, Alipay, PayPal, bank card, or credit card. Your order may be delivered to your home within 4-5 days of placing the order. Robotics Summer Camp
As summer break approaches, we are exploring the possibility of launching our very first Robotics Summer Camp. We are in the early stages of planning and would appreciate your input regarding student availability during the summer. The program will be based on VEX Robotics, which our students have successfully used for competitions over the years. This camp aims to give students more time to build, code, and prepare for the upcoming 2025–2026 robotics season. Next school year, the Middle School competition will be held at LifePlus School in Wuhan, and the High School competition will be hosted here at Yantai Huasheng International School (YHIS).
We understand that students often struggle to find enough time during the school year to complete and fine-tune their robots. This summer opportunity will help them not only work ahead on robotics but also enjoy other after-school activities (ASAs) with less pressure during the academic year.
