Student Wearing Formal Uniform during Board Meeting
Next week, our school will host a board meeting on Wednesday, September 10. To help us show our school spirit and look our best, all students are asked to wear their formal school uniform on this day (white shirt and tie; the cardigan is not required). New students who have not yet received their formal uniform set due to stock shortages will be able to receive it this Friday and next Monday. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us present our best to our guests.
Please also review the uniform bottom policy:
Students may wear solid colored navy blue, black, or khaki long pants or shorts that come no higher than the student’s fingertips as they stand straight with hands by their side. Females may also wear skirts or skorts (no higher than 6 cm above the knee). Bottoms must not be made of light-weight, spandex/lycra® type materials that are clingy. They cannot be ripped, frayed or have words, stripes, patterns or mottos on them. Jeans are not acceptable. No part of the student’s abdomen or back should be exposed.
Parent Workshop: Helping Children Manage Stress
Raising emotionally resilient children can be challenging, especially in today’s fast-paced and demanding world. Children often encounter stress from school, extracurricular activities, and social pressures, and learning how to manage these challenges is essential for their well-being.
We are excited to invite you to a special parent workshop on Tuesday, September 16, at 9:00 am. The workshop will be led by our LifePlus Director of Odyssey, Melissa McCutchan. The LifePlus Odyssey team is a group of staff committed to fostering social and emotional growth of LifePlus students by regularly providing invaluable support to our students and staff.
Join us as we explore practical strategies to help children recognize, understand, and manage stress effectively. This session will provide actionable tools for supporting your child’s emotional health, fostering resilience, and creating a balanced and nurturing environment at home. If you are interested in attending the workshop, please sign up through this link.

Secondary Fall Camp Parent Briefing
The annual Secondary Fall Camps are fast approaching, scheduled for September 18-19. To prepare, we invite you to an online parent briefing on Monday, September 8, at 10:00 am. Our camp coordinator, Dr. Diana Holden, will share important details about the schedule, preparation, and what to expect. This is a great opportunity to have your questions answered. Please click the link to join the meeting. We look forward to sharing more information with you then.
Secondary MAP Testing Schedule
During the Fall and Spring of each year, G6-10 students are tested in Mathematics, Reading, Language Usage and Science.
The MAP test gives YHIS important data about each student, so it is important that every student take their time and put forth their best effort. Please encourage your child to eat a healthy breakfast and get 8-9 hours of sleep before taking the MAP Tests.
