Fall MAP Test Report, Talent Show, Volleyball Tournament

International Day
International Day is our annual tradition of celebrating our diversity and learning about countries at YHIS. This year's International Day is scheduled for 10:00 am on Saturday, November 1. All parents are welcome to come and enjoy the celebration!

If you are planning to come, please complete a survey by Friday, October 24, to let us know how many family members will come by completing this registration form. This will help the school better prepare foods. Further details will be shared in the upcoming weeks.

Parent-Teacher Conference (Student-led Conference)
Parent-Teacher Conferences are approaching. Please note that the ECC/Elementary and Secondary divisions will follow slightly different schedules.

Thursday, October 30:
Secondary conferences will begin in the afternoon, starting from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm for teachers who do not have class at that time.

Friday, October 31:
Both ECC/Elementary and Secondary conferences will take place from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. There will be no classes on this day.

Detailed information will be shared with you early next week.

Fall MAP Growth Test Report
Parents of students from Kindergarten through G10 can access their child’s MAP report through PowerSchool. Once you log into PowerSchool, click the “DocBox” icon in the menu.

Parents can refer to the MAP Data Parent Guide on how to read the report. These MAP Growth tests not only determine the student’s instructional level, but also measure their academic growth throughout the school year (and from year to year) in various subjects. Please note that MAP Growth scores are just one data point that teachers use to determine how a student is performing. Please discuss any questions that you have about your child’s performance with your child’s teacher.

ECC & Elementary Talent Show
The show will be held on Friday, October 17 at 2:00 pm in the theater. Parents are encouraged to attend and support the students.

LifePlus High School Volleyball Tournament
This Thursday through Saturday, we are excited to bring you live streams of all of the action from the LifePlus High School Volleyball Tournament. We want as many people watching as possible during the tournament.

We will have student and staff volunteers commentating on as many games as possible, which will add to the excitement of the games.

LifePlus Middle School Soccer Tournament
YHIS is hosting the LifePlus Middle School Soccer Tournament on Friday-Saturday, October 24-25. Three other LifePlus schools are participating in the tournament.

Snacks will be available for purchase, and students may pay with cash or via WeChat.

We are looking forward to an exciting and competitive tournament for all. Go Sharks!
