PTO Christmas Market
The annual YHIS PTO Christmas Market is scheduled for Friday, December 12, from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm. The event is a festive gathering where community members come together to spread the warmth and joy of Christmas.

Booth registrants are welcome to arrive as early as 1:30 pm to set up and decorate their booth. Each booth will receive a long table and two chairs. Upon arrival, please pay your booth fee at the front desk in the lobby. After payment, you will receive a festive table decoration set. If you requested electricity, the school will provide a power strip (3 or 5 meters). Please note that the power strips have flat sockets only. Your booth location will be randomly assigned at the lobby upon arrival.

Tickets are limited and available for purchase on-site at the desinged sales areas. Each raffle ticket has a prize type labeled "A" or "B." To claim your prize, please take your ticket to the corresponding exchange booth in the second floor hallway.

Uniform-Free Friday
We look forward to seeing you all this Friday at our festive Christmas Market. Gathering as a community is a wonderful way to kick off the weekend. To make the day even more special—and as a thank you for your flexibility after the date change—this Friday will be a uniform-free day for students and a dress-down day for staff. Students are asked to adhere to the school handbook dress code (neat, school-appropriate attire), and beyond that, they are encouraged to dress as festively as they wish! Christmas Break
Christmas Break begins on Monday, December 22, and runs until Friday, January 2. Monday, January 5, is scheduled for staff professional development, and it is a no-school day for students. The school resumes on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Last Day of First Semester
Friday, December 19, is the last day of the first semester. It is a half day for students.

Official Documents for Leaving Students
Official documents for leaving students will be ready for pick-up from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Friday, December 19, in the admissions office.

TEDx March 2026
Our school is proud to host TEDxYantai Huasheng Intl School in the spring semester. The tentative date for the event is March 28th.

YHIS is looking for some student speakers to give presentations at the event. Giving a TED Talk would be a wonderful chance for students to develop speaking skills, share thoughts with our school body, and challenge intellectual thinking. What a great opportunity!

We plan to include 5 secondary student speakers at the event. Students will come up with their own topic and speech according to one of the following categories: Art, Business, Design, Education, Entertainment, Health, Humanities, Life, Public Issues, Science and Math, Social Science, or Tech.

Students may apply to be a speaker at the event by filling out the form that was sent to secondary students' email account this week. Applications will include a description of the speech along with a short video introduction. A panel of teachers will select the top 5 students to participate in the TEDx event. All applications are due on January 13th.
