Picture Days and Exciting ECC & Elementary Events

Picture Days
Picture Days are scheduled for Monday, March 30, and Tuesday, March 31 (ECC and Elementary on Monday, and Secondary on Tuesday). Students are required to wear their formal uniforms. On these days, your child will participate in the school group photo, classroom/advisory group photos, and individual student photos. Photos taken on these days will be used in the Yearbook.

Upcoming ECC & Elementary Events
The end of March and the entire month of April will be a very busy and exciting time for our ECC and Elementary classes. YHIS has many fun and engaging activities planned over the next month and a half.
March 27 - The ECC Stay-at-School Royal Adventure.

Instead of going on a field trip, the excitement will come to school. The students will enjoy a variety of special activities, including a petting zoo and making la-mian（拉面) for lunch. They will also have the opportunity to choose choose between going to a Ball or fencing lessons, and finally they will watch a dragon/lion dance. Throughout the day, many other special activities will also be going on.

April 3 - Elementary Reading Fair
In the morning, elementary students will demonstrate their reading skills through a variety of grade-level activities:
• 1st Grade – Reading Café: 8:30–9:15
• 2nd Grade – Readers’ Theater: 8:30–9:15
• 3rd Grade – Biography Wax Museum: 9:15–9:45
• 4th Grade – Book Flix: 9:50–10:20
• 5th Grade – Book Reports: 10:25–11:05

After lunch, the elementary students will participate in the Reading Carnival, where where guest teachers will lead a series of short, fun lessons. Each lesson will be followed by 15 minutes of reading, using either books students bring from home or books provided at school.

April 15 – Elementary Field Day (originally scheduled for April 17)
A day full of races, games, and outdoor fun.

April 17 – 2nd Grade Field Trip: Yantai Agriculture Expo
April 23 – 1st Grade Field Trip: Whale Shark Aquarium
April 24 – 3rd Grade Field Trip: Dinosaur Museum
April 24 – ECC Family Day
ECC students and their parents are invited to join a fun morning of kite flying and family activities.

April 29 – 4th Grade Field Trip: Penglai Aquarium and the Boat Museum at Penglai Pavilion
