Medical Report for Students Entering G1, G6, and G9
All new and returning students entering Grades 1, 6, and 9 for the upcoming school year are required to complete a Student Medical Report (SMR) and submit it by the end of the first week of school.

If a student was newly enrolled in Kindergarten, Grade 5, or Grade 8 and completed the SMR upon admission, another medical examination is not required at this time.

For your convenience, we recommend the following local hospital for health screening. It is located near the campus and has printed SMR forms available specifically for our students:

KunLunShan Hospital (烟台市昆仑山医院)
Address: 山东省烟台市福山区昆仑山路88号
Work hours for health screening: 7:30–11:00, 13:30–16:30 on Monday - Friday
Cost: 60 RMB

Chinese Level Placement Test
All elementary and secondary students in Chinese classes are required to take a Chinese placement test during the first week of the new school year. To ensure appropriate class placement, there will be a one-week adjustment period. Please note that Native Chinese classes are exempt from the placement test. If you have any questions, please contact the Chinese Department at chinese@yhischina.com.

Spring MAP Growth Test Report
Parents of students who took Spring MAP testing can access their child’s MAP report through PowerSchool. Once you log into PowerSchool, click the “DocBox” icon in left menu.

Enjoy Water Safely
This announcement is designed to proactively raise awareness of water safety ahead of summer outdoor activities.

  1. Supervision is rule #1. Kids must be watched whenever they're around water, no matter what their swimming skills. This is true whether the water is in a bathtub, a wading pool, an ornamental fish pond, a swimming pool, a spa, an ocean, or a lake. Even kids who know how to swim can be at risk for drowning. For instance, a child could slip and fall on the pool deck, lose consciousness, and fall into the pool and possibly drown.

  2. Young children are especially at risk. They can drown in less than 2 inches (6 centimeters) of water. That means drowning can happen in a sink, toilet bowl, fountains, buckets, inflatable pools, or small bodies of standing water around your home, such as ditches filled with rainwater. Young kids and weak swimmers should have an adult swimmer within arm's reach to provide "touch supervision."

  3. Look out for lifeguards. If you’re looking for a place to cool off always find a lifeguarded swimming site.

  4. Currents in the water can be very strong. If you find yourself caught in a riptide – don’t swim against it – you’ll tire yourself out. Swim with the current and call for help.
