October Holiday
There is no school from September 25-October 2 for Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day Holiday. All students return from October break on Monday, October 5.

International Day
International Day is our annual tradition of celebrating our diversity and learning about countries at YHIS. This year's International Day is scheduled for Saturday, November 7. Please mark your calendar. More information will be provided closer to the date.

Fall MAP Growth Test Report
Parents of students from Kindergarten through G10 can access their child’s MAP report through PowerSchool. Once you log into PowerSchool, click the “DocBox” icon in the menu.

Parents can refer to the MAP Data Parent Guide on how to read the report. These MAP Growth tests not only determine the student’s instructional level, but also measure their academic growth throughout the school year (and from year to year) in various subjects. Please note that MAP Growth scores are just one data point that teachers use to determine how a student is performing. Please discuss any questions that you have about your child’s performance with your child’s teacher.

Medication Administration Form
According to the school policy, students are not allowed to carry their own medicines unless they are for emergency conditions such as diabetes or severe allergic reactions.

If parents would like their child to take any medication at school, they can send a small amount, which will be stored in the Nurse Office for their child to use, and they must complete the Medication Administration Permission Form. Any daily or prescription medication to be taken by students during school hours must be clearly labeled with the child's name and be brought to the Nurse Office upon arrival at school. It should be in the original package and be labeled with the name of the medicine and instructions in English. It must also be accompanied by the Medication Administration Permission Form.

It is the responsibility of the student to be aware of the times the medication is to be taken and to go to the Nurse Office at the proper time. The Nurse Office staff will administer medications to students only according to the parent’s instruction.
