They may not wander the halls or be in classrooms unsupervised by a teacher. On days when they participate in after-school activities, the departure time is 4:55 pm for secondary students, and all students should leave campus within 10 minutes after the completion of those activities.
YHIS Spirit Week: October 26–29

• Monday, October 26 – Zoo Day: Wear animal-themed clothing or dress up as your favorite animal.
• Tuesday, October 27 – Teacher-Student Swap Day: Teachers dress like students, while students dress like teachers or a specific teacher.
• Wednesday, October 28 – Twin Day: Pair up with a friend and coordinate your outfits to match.
• Thursday, October 29 – October Costume Day: Get creative and dress up as anything you can imagine, from animals and everyday objects to your favorite characters.

Secondary Student-Led Conferences
Secondary Student-Led Conferences will be held on Friday, October 30, from 8:00 am–5:00 pm.
Each conference is 40 minutes long, consisting of two parts: a 15-minute conference and a 25-minute open-house session.
Part 1: Student-Led Conference — 15 minutes
The conference includes the student, their parent(s), and the student’s advisory teacher. Students lead the conference and act as translators when necessary. During this time, students will:
• present samples of their coursework;
• share their strengths and areas for improvement; and
• discuss their progress toward their goals for the year.
Part 2: Open House — 25 minutes
Following the conference, students and parents will have the opportunity to visit and briefly speak with classroom teachers. This time is specifically for discussing how the student is doing in individual classes.
Sign-up instructions have been sent to you via email. Please review the instructions and sign up for a conference with your child’s teacher.
