IBUS App, China Day, MS Science Fair Date Change

Staff Professional Development Days
LifePlus Staff Professional Development Days are scheduled for Thursday-Friday, January 29-30. The school is closed for students, and staff is spending extended time in professional development meetings.

Trial Implementation of the IBUS App
To further enhance our school bus service and better support the daily travel needs of students and parents, the school will begin a trial implementation of the IBUS School Bus System on Bus No. 7. IBUS is a school bus app that allows parents and the school to track buses in real time and receive timely updates. This initial rollout will serve as a trial period. If the results are positive, the school plans to expand the use of the IBUS system to all school buses in the next academic year.

China Day
Chinese Spring Festival is one of the most important holidays in China. As a school, we would like to celebrate this time together. YHIS China Day will be on Friday, February 13. The Chinese Language Department is planning various engaging hands-on activities for all students.

In the afternoon, from 1:30 to 3:20 pm, we will host a China Day Concert Performance in the theater. Students will showcase traditional Chinese songs and dances to celebrate the festival. All parents are welcome to join in the celebration. A dress rehearsal for all student performers is scheduled for Wednesday, February 11, from 3:30 to 5:00 pm. Transportation will be provided for performing students on that day.

Snow Day Policy
We would like to remind parents of our snow day policy. Precautions are taken to ensure that our students and staff members have a safe commute both to and from school. We will make every effort to announce delay and closure information before 6:30 am. In making decisions, Mr. Miller will consider the weather conditions and advice from the local authorities. Delay, closure, or early dismissal notifications will be sent to parents via text message through the YHIS Notification WeChat group.

ECC Student-Parent Cupcake Decorating Event
The ECC will be hosting a student–parent cupcake decorating event on Friday, February 6, from 1:30–3:20 pm in the 4th-floor auditorium. We look forward to welcoming parents to join their children for this special afternoon of creativity and fun.

Middle School Science Fair Date Change
The Middle School Science Fair, originally scheduled for March 26, has been rescheduled to Thursday, April 2. Thank you for your understanding.

SoGang University Admissions Seminar
Admissions representatives from SoGang University will be visiting YHIS on Monday, March 16, at 14:00. Interested parents are warmly invited to attend this seminar and learn more about university admissions. Please mark your calendar and join us.

Payment for November Lock-in
Please be informed that high school Student Council charged students for the lock-in event that took place last semester. If your student attended the lock-in on November 21, they were charged 50 RMB from their PowerSchool lunch account last week. Please be aware of the extra charge and thank you for your understanding.
